tuesday 26th july the rfl announce who will be joining widnes in super league next season, along with the SL teams Halifax have also submited a application, so 2 current SL teams could possibley be leaving. who do people think it will be?



personally i hope its castleford. wouldnt mind seeing kr getting dumped out but cant see that one happening.

Indeed. Wakey will go, and if they do, Crusaders should go too.

I'd agree, but don't think Crusaders will be given the boot. If they were I think they'd wrap up within 3 months, which would be too much of an embarassment for an expansion team.

You're probably right about Crusaders. I just don't think it's fair that both clubs are as bad as each other yet one will stay.

Keep both, for me. Give Wakey's new owners a chance and have a 15 team SL.

Should bring back relegation & promotion, made a joke of our sport and forced clubs like ours to end up with dross coaches!!

I don't think it would be fair either. I'm not in favour of a 15 team league either though, personally, I think the week off is wrong. If you're to give Wakey another chance too I'd sooner go for 16 teams, abandon the magic weekend, and shorten the playoff system to 6 teams and get rid of another week there. So 2 teams added to SL but only 2 weeks onto the season instead of 4.

I like the idea of a 16 team competition with a 6 team play off system, but it would only work if there's P&R, or else there'd be a lot of nothing games.

I agree again, bring it back. But I'd keep a minimum criteria system in place so that NL teams still have to get their house in order before they can be promoted.



The P&R scrappage was supposed to encourage the use of youth, but with the club trained player requirements etc. that should hopefully happen anyway now, especially as the non-fed exemptions such as Manu reach retirement.

I agree on the 2nd point.

On the 1st, I'm not sure how you could keep a minimum criteria system, would seem unfair to say "Sorry lads, you've finished top and haven't lost a game all year. But, you can't be promoted because you don't meet certain criteria", would seem very unfair on the players in that team.

wakey will go down any talk of going to 15 or 16 teams is a no go straight away, we need teams in the championship to improve on and off the field espcially of it to then maybe 1 day work towards 2 full time leagues with promotion and relegation but at the moment theres only leigh and halifax that are decent but both of them still have loads to improve on.
