Looking to upgrade before Grand Final but finding it a bit of a mindfield.



I've got it down to two TV's now, both LCD.



One is 200hz and 1/80 000 contrast ratio (LG)



the other 100hz and 1/ 120 000 contast ratio (Samsung)



Both HD 1080p



Anyone any idea which one will have the better picture?

I have a TV that I could sell ya cheap, no remote.....................

Both are good, but this year's Samsung models are cracking. I have one and the picture is superb.



What size screen?

The Samsung is 40 and the LG is 42.



Reasonable prices too, both in the 720.00 region.



To be honest i'm leading towards the Samsung based on possitive response from others who already have other models.

I have the 38" Samsung and I can highly recommend it. I did a lot of research before buying and all of this year's Samsung models get great reviews. I previously had a 32" Sony Bravia 100Hz LCD and the Samsung is far superior.



The £720 price point is very good. Not so long ago the 40" and 42" models were up around the £900-£1000 mark, although there are always deals available.

Also worth noting, the human eye cannot distinguish contrasts above about 3000/1 (IIRC). If you get a decent hz motion quality that's main. I have a top of the range viera LCD and it is class.
