| Dave Burns little tirade against us was bang out of order last night. He was on a mission to whip listeners up into a frenzy and succeeded.
He invited people to call/text/e-mail their thoughts about the domestic violence campaign we are supporting together with our signing of Stuart Reardon, obviously oblivious to all the facts.
Even later when Craig Murdoch and Gwillym Lloyd pointed out that there was an article in Friday's programme (which would surely have had to be proof read etc. well before Reardon was even released from Warrington) saying that it was aimed at the perpetrators, he said that he didn't believe it wasn't all pre-meditated, ranting on about the timing of the announcement. All this regardless of the fact that Reardon was only released by Warrington on Monday, we didn't announce his signing until Saturday and our involvement in the campaign will have been organised long before.
He then went on to compare us to backing an anti-drugs campaign with Pete Doherty as spokesman and suggested us running out to "Smack My B*tch Up".
Had to laugh at the Rovers fan Christine though. "If I were a victim of domestic violence I'd see this as a smack in the face"

| First of all, I think that men being violent against women is disgusting.
That said, I think violence against anyone is disgusting.
Why do we make this more of an issue, then men being violent to men, or women being violent to women, or even (and it does happen) women being violent to men?
If we are to take a moral high ground, should it not be against violence full stop.
Is it less immoral if the victim is a man?

That's a very good point you make there, it does kind of count out a lot more of our team then just the one though!

Exactly.
The same would be said for all teams, and all sports.

The charity Snap, which runs a gender-neutral helpline, says it receives up to 25 calls a day from battered men. There are only four places in the country which offer shelter to male victims of domestic violence, which men's rights campaigners say is not enough. | The guy is an idiot and always has a pop at RL especially FC. Isn't it strange he never kicked up a fuss about Marlon King?

| he thinks he's jonathan ross or chris moyles and tries to copy their style.
I listened to Humbersides coverage of the city game on saturday and it was filled with him and Swannys 'jokes' throughout, you would have thought it was the burnsie show not a vital relegation 6 pointer.

| It was the worst I have heard him since the Sharp is Toast tirade of last year. He seems to have learnt a new work "Crass" as he must have repeated it ten times. It was the bit about the entry music that up set me though!
Thing is in the end by his actions he appears to care little for us or Rovers, or in fact Shorpe or Grimsby until, that is, there is something that he can get controversial about. No doubt he will be shouting the odds about it tonight on Sports Talk.
There was, you will notice, little 'going off on one' about Marlon Kings antics was there? That would have upset his friend Mr Duffen . Its a bit like the way he defended his decision on the RL international. For most of the time we all seem after thoughts when compaired with his beloved City!
Got to say the Doc and Mr lloyd talked some sense though, before they were shouted down by their boss. They spoke sense without condoning the signing or what he had done! They did not back what had happened just tried to put across the facts Perhaps Hull Fc should start an anti bullying campaign next!
The Sports Editor will all probably be reading this and saying what a good profile the tirade has got them!! How sad!
