Lets be honest if this was happening to hkr we'd all be loving it but because it's Hull some fans believe all the media hate us.

that and the fact he loves the sound of his own vice and thinks he's Hull's answer to Howard Stern; he's about as radical as Howard from the Halifax.



Like I said on another post, HDM couldn't give a stuff about street or domestic violence, or even news for that matter

Seem to me that all they care about these days is controversy and if that involves creating tension between our clubs and fans, all the better.



If these two cases didn't involve Rovers and FC players they would barely have got much more mention than a chip pan fire.



Some of the 'reporting' has been worse than crass for quite some time.

Burns is not a very intelligent man..he clearly likes the sound of his own voice..

What annoyed me was when he was presented with the facts of the fc campaign he decided he was not buying into it

1 normally represents a one off incident..3 usually represents a very violent individual..

Research has shown if perps in catergories 1 +2 are offered help via counselling etc there is a better chance of the perp not re-offending. Whatever circumstances brough Readon here..if he gets community service he will be ideal to recieve the help and help promote the campaign which will be very benefical for 1000s of families.

AND that for me is the main cause of the friendly banter and good natured rivalry between our clubs that we all experienced in the 80's turning into the (almost) hatred that now prevails between the two sets of fans. This is fuellled by some of the ridiculously provocative and usually groundless Texts and message board clap trap the media organisations in this City welcome and broadcast.



One day mark my words it will all blow up and then it will be the clubs faults and the fans that are to blame, whilst they will be left with a good story!

Any-way I will be tuning in now just to hear Burns bully his staff whilst condoning FC for signing Readon (who has clearly shown remorse publicly for his one off offence) which none of us condone however we all accept we are not in receipt of the full facts or had the opportunity to talk to Stuart in relation to this offence..



I hope this man Burns does not consider himself a sports journalist as he clearly has no idea how to gather any facts or information..He clearly uses the bbc show to air his own personal views.and uses the show as a soapbox.Yesterday it appeared he had no interest in discussing the rugby he just wanted to discuss the Readon case..what makes it worse is they appear to be using this show to cause a big divide between both the KR & FC fans..why did he want to ask a fan before they commented on Readon who they supported!! It must be said they also did it with the Cockayne saga.

At times it seemed he himself didn't know the point he was making. His argument was much the "Can't you see the irony", which, ultimately there is irony there but yes, we can, so what?



His stupidity was highlighted by the fact that not only did he speak about an issue he clearly didn't know much about (The nature of the campaign, the nature of his offense) but when issued with the facts he still choose to ignore them. What a stupid stupid man.

That has been my concern for a while.

Since the BC case closed and running up to the derby I was actually worried for the first time in a long time that there could be some serious trouble because of the way the media had been behaving in Hull.

Thankfully, I think the right-minded majority were desperate to prove this 'hatred' is manufactured and I believe fans from both sides were on the best behaviour at a derby for years.



The atmosphere before during and after was superb and I doff my hat to the real rugby fans of this city.



On the subject of texts to BBC: I have had many texts not read out on the program whilst they have been happy to read out the bilge they get slagging each other off every week. They know full well what they are doing, believe me.



I have been a big champion of RH over the last few years (HDM I wrote off decades ago) but frankly their current behaviour disgusts me.

Of course, so many of you are correct, and RH should only read out pre-prepared statements from censors, and only talk about what people really don't want to hear. Entertainment at it's best, i'm sure you won't agree.

No ...but the basic requirement for any audience is for a presenter to at least know the facts of what they are reporting..otherwise they risk appearing rather stupid..Just like Burns did..a good reporter (very rear) I know has the ability to faciliate a debate without Bullying his own point of view down every-ones throat!! A BBC radio station should not be used as a soapbox with ill informed reporters spouting and antagonising opposite teams within the city and this is just waht is happening on RH
