this has to come from the club, its the council that is delaying things, I was told that get the gates working in the north stand would add another 500, that is now done just needs approval

Safety is paramount. I understand that. What is frustrating is when certain aspects of Health and Safety are taken to the enth degree yet other disasters in waiting are ignored or left to worsen.

I just hope they sign it off quicker than they repair potholes...

Well if we want to be pedantic about safety why does the council allow folk to use its skate park at Thornes Park without correct safety clothes ie helmets. Serious accident waiting to happen.

So we still don't know what the capacity is for tomorrows game, or whether there is segregation.



Getting close to match day now.

Still reduced capacity for the Cas game. The club are waiting for the council to check the work. Anybody who lives in the Wakefield district knows they do not rush.

Personally, I'm ok with zealous health and safety requirements for the sites of large pubic gatherings; there have been high profile examples of how it can go badly wrong.



That said, I'm not a fan of the glacial speed at which LA's do absolutely everything; I depend on their good offices a lot through work and I'm constantly perplexed by how they get away with such gross inefficiency.

Perhaps by knowing that people in the Wakefield District will never change their voting habits? About time this district and council needed a large kick up the backside.

I work with dozens of LA's of every colour - it makes no odds who's in power, the culture of the public sector is deeply ingrained.

I can definitely agree with that.

Such a shame if this is not approved pre-match. Often the biggest home gate of the season and a big loss of potential revenue. We want to get out of the financial doldrums and losing this opportunity is not a great help.



I appreciate safety is paramount.



Some very dedicated individuals have put a lot of hard voluntary effort into making this happen. It is also a city/district wide event when these 2 clubs meet.



Okay I don't know the ins and the outs of things, I accept that. It is just a great shame if the approval does not come in time.
