| It does not seem to have been a problem for Cas and Salford.

That's not how it reads to me. quote" The first part of that is player movement outwards and the second part will be player recruitment".
He does not mention anything about a considerable number of signings only how difficult it will be to recruit because of the franchise, and as I have already said it does not seem to be a problem for other clubs. Personally I have not been in football management but I would have thought that before you got rid of a player you would have got a replacement lined up, seems that we are setting a new trend and doing things @rrrsole backwards.

I would say the opposite if money is tight.
You have to get rid before you know how much you have to spend.

| of co he is, get real. Cas have signed mathers and youngquest both very good players we would love to have signed. Salford have signed paleasena, latu, v anderson, luke pattern, wild and most importantly retained both of there half back esp holdsworth. The only teams struggling s us and harliquins. what he doesn't say is how players talk and no one of any real quality will play under him. like i have said before our biggest problem is our coaching staff and of co lack of funds.
But we will keep telling ourselves its franchise fault because it hides the obvious.

Whether they are quality or not is open to debate, but the point is they are actual signings and not rumours which at the present time that is what we are having to survive on because of the lack of imfo regarding transfers from the club, it could be that the club will pull a few trees up and surprise us with some brilliant signings but as optimistic as I am towards the club all I see is Kear getting his excuses in early according to trinfan's link.

| I disagree about the Salford not signing quality, in terms of the type of player they (and we) can sign some of their signings have been quality. I mean in respect of Vinnie Anderson what do we currently have that would compliment Morrison. Luke Patten is a far better player than Blaymire and Chris Nero would walk into our side. No wait a minute have an abundance of quality second rows and centres. To be fair following the last couple of seasons Bradford are fishing in the same pool as us but they are managing to attract players.
I may be over analysing the article too much, but didn't the god that is Kear state in the media that there would be a review of the season. Then the players who were going would be told and confirmed. Then the new signings would be confirmed as they had all been signed up for next season. Now this article talks of the difficulty he is facing and that there are only probably 3 confirmed signings for next season.
Castleford (in terms of stadium certainty (no building work started yet)) are in the same boat as we are, but they are signing players on 2 & 3 year contracts. Granted they may not be what some people would term as quality, but they are signing on long term contracts none the less.

| "There will be a couple of extensions as well and a considerable number of signings" this says to me that things are still lookig possitive to be honest. I agree tho that once we release a player we should have a replacement lined up. 7 players gone already and only 3 signings that seem to be nailed on.

If money is not available then why deplete your squad even further by buying players of a lesser quality than the ones you are releasing and then having let those players go knowing full well that you have very little money for recruitment find yourself in a position whereby you are having to take anything you can lay your hands on, perfect example Brough and Cook.
