The cas v ketty game was quite a match to be remembered for lots of good reasons. The lads who put ketty shirts on tried and played as well as they would of done just about on the othe side.i take my hat off to them.



Kettlethorpe got a rugby lesson in the first half although a couple were in thier first natch some of the lads were playing their 3rd game in 5 days afer a hard win over becketts on Monday.



im also lucjy enough now to get to watch or decide who im going to watch as the young un had his first school boy game , started at 7 and for mine the the buas papa was inspirational and man of the match as Kettlethorpe won at Airdale by a last minute try. All dispitr the coachs sad attempts at cheating and telling a case of poor sportsmanship I will keep to myself.



22-16 a great match with 35plus lads giving everything

On a different point surprised to see the ossett outwood score with all due respect was the outwood side depleted or something?



And to spongebob The cathedral high school or cathy as we know it as got a partnership with year 9s rugby team at least but as far as I know onlyb1 player who is very very good as been mentioned in the pick.



not gonna be popular for saying this but I want every school to have a team and for there to be no need for merged schools.

maybe this is the fault of wajey wildcats not having the guts to get out in the schools but I know that school games in wakefield are badly planed and badly cancled.

But in Castleford and Hull the schools take Rugby League si serious but get to Wembley every year,

Thanks for that Mutts . Got to agree with your point about all schools & wishing they could all have a team - Just depends on the teachers I suppose & their own interests .

Young Sponge is pretty reliable at kicking ...apparently after the Becketts game he's had 10 people asking him for coaching lessons !

Ossett have a number of lads now playing regular club rugby; most of them with us, but a couple with Eastmoor; I believe 3 of their yr 9 team signed scholarship papers with SL clubs recently.



Also, they've got a new coach and a more regular training schedule.

The Becketts game was a pretty memorable one as was the cas one for the young un once again being asked to "stay behind" but the 14s kick off this weekend and this year is a big one for the lads who have ambition.



dreams can be made but its only 14s there's still another. 3 years i know that one lad mention no names on here as been told to forget about football and go up to the all black's . That's after the cas game.



its goes to show you only have to be lucky once for someone to be there at the right time.

really? clubs should not be approaching anyone in year 9 and def not signing them up until Yr10

Players have been selected to attend a monthly 14s 'school of excellence' though not signing official papers. I did the Leeds one a few years ago and the idea is to identify talent for 15s and give the players a feel for that environment.

I got my years mixed up - they are in fact year 10's. My bad.

imho its a crying shame that we don't have the 12s at service but apparently costs in Wakefield area have forced the councils hand.

although. Of course being a hot bed of football and shoot put monies is put aside in this direction.

The big un played for a year above yesterday at crofton high playing against one of his club teammate's. Didn't see the match and by all accounts it was a sound win by the crofton year 10s . But what a shame that year 9s are having to fill in .



From what im told they both handled the bigger boys with ease but both have the luxury of being war of the roses champions.

year 7 kettlethorpe8 remain unbeaten thanks to a great 2nd half turn around V ossett academy.

after trailing. 8-4 at half time they ran out 22-8 victor's



whilst kettlethorpe year9 ran out 26 6 winners at minsthorpe , shock for many that kettlethorpe win 2 from 3 and avoid

massacre V cas high



im a very proud dad but in very proud of wakey area kids , im sure cas high will make Wembley again.
