Black is actually a more cooling colour. You only have to look at Spain, Portugal etc. to notice black is a common colour even in summer. The old Spanish and Portugese always wear dark colours because it apparently reflects the heat while pale colours absorb the heat. As for the match I very much doubt you will struggle but this season anything goes. Ala Bradford for you and Salford for us.

The colour definitely does make a difference. Those of you who studied physics will know that black absorbs more heat than white objects. It is all to do with the electromagnetic spectrum. I even remember doing an experiment at school to prove it.



It is not an old wives tale at all. It is all down to the physics of our planet. So 'all black' is not a good summer rugby colour at all.

Actually black absorbs more light. Light and heat are different forms of energy. Light is usually converted to heat, therefore black heats up more.
