last night at widnes i was talking to various people,including some people i regularly meet up with at games and pre/post match and was astounded to find out that hardly anyone of them have been to widnes before, this came to light when we were discussing the ground and i realised that most of them hadn't been to the NFP grand final* in 2002 or indeed any of the super league games we played there, which i guess was 2006?

so despite their been a few of us "old timers" most of the crowd last night i suspect were fans new to the club since 2006, it's great that we have picked up new fans who travel away with us, and just shows what massive strides we have made off the pitch in 5 years lets hope more fans are coming to games who haven't been to other grounds in the next few years.

* to newer followers in case you were unaware,this was the game in which we got back to super league after relegation the previous year, beating leigh 36-12 at the then autoquest stadium

some good memories of giants playing at widnes ground...some not so good too!

It's one of my favorite grounds. Nice little all seater stadium with a nice little bar and lots of free on street parking.
