I'm coming up for the Fri and Sat games next week staying in Warrington.



Which is the best way to get to Leigh on public transport on the Sat.



Any good pubs to visit pre and post the game would also be appreciated

You want the 19 from Warrington, get off in the town centre and ask for the Thomas Burke pub, start your day from there, open early doors 9-10ish, and follow the crowds.

19 bus from Warrington takes you into Leigh I think. Otherwise it's a train from Warrington to Atherton and then bus/taxi to the ground.



Pubwise there's a Wetherspoons (Thomas Burke) & Goose in the town centre (10 minute walk from the stadium)



Then there's The Centurion closer to the ground.

You can get the 19 or 28a from Warrington both will get you in to the town centre close by the Goose.

Or make lif easier for yourself an book a room at the Park Inn next to the stadium rather than staying in Warrington

There's trains from Warrington Bank Quay to both Earlestown and Newton-le-Willows. The 34 St Helens to Leigh bus goes from Earlestown bus station, behind Wilkinsons, and from across the road from Newton-le-Willows train station. The 34 stops at the Britannia pub before the bridge. The LSV is 5 minutes walk down Etherstone Street from there. You could stay on the bus to go to the town centre pubs. The last bus back to Newton-le-Willows and Earlestown leaves Leigh at 6:40pm.

pub wise the thomas burke, excellent beer and decent value food, and if your a real fam then the white lion has imo been serving some outstanding beers lately and deserves your support, if however you drink owt then there are loads of pubs in leigh to go into.
