I think the props on show over the last few weeks have been completely ineffective, inariably struggling to make much more than 20 yards on a standard set of 6 in our own half, giving up acres of territory and enabling the opposition to play most of the game in our half. Two players lacking in first time football can't exactly be worse I wouldn't've thought. Indeed, Cashmere's a better prop when half fit than any other prop in the team. Sure, Jewitt has shown signs of stepping up but still a long way to go in my opinion. (And obviously not in the reckoning at the moment. Any news on him?)

[iIn my opinion Ray Cashmere should be having a run out in the reserves before coming back into first team action.

In an ideal world with numerous quality props to choose from, undoubtedly. However, we're not exactly blessed with quality props at the moment are we... :s

| On the topic though, good to see Neal getting a game after being 18th man for a few games, and good to see Cashmere back, as Gav said in an ideal world he would have a run out in the reserves first, but we arent exactly blessed with a group of quality props.

| I agree that Ray should be given a warm up game really to test himself. I know we have Jewitt and Boyle missing but at worst I think I'd have gone for something like the following;
8. Sidlow
9. Alker
10. Parker
11. Littler/Sibbit
12. Adamson
13. Swain
With Leuluai, Neal & Cashmere on the bench and eased Ray in slowly.

| Jewitt injured , Boyle suspended ,
that leaves Parker ,Leuluai Fit
Sidlow filling in at 2nd rower or prop
Cashmere presumably available but short of match fitness and Adam Neal in on loan.
I guess it beggars can't be choosers, If Cashmere is fit to go is there any use in him running out in a reserve fixture ?
Also they need to see Adam Neal in 1st team action before the end of the season if they are interested in bringing him in full time for next season. Of course they could've given Ben Wood a go ?
no matter what it won't make the pack any less ineffectual than it already is .
We haven't won at Odsal for 23 yrs, so shuffling the pack is a bit like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Nope but we should have done, we got beat 25-18 after a very dodgy decision from referee and touch judge cancelling out a Fitzpatrick try (IIRC) when we we're ahead something like 18-6 was the major deciding factor that night. Beverley got a hat-trick BTW.

Make your mind up matey. You appear happier at the prospect of Ray Cashmere playing on the other thread for this game.

Yeah I'm delighted he's back but he has to be played off the bench for mine in a couple of 10 minute spells, he's been out for3 months.
A few times this year a 19 man squad has been selected and I've known for a week that a certain player wasn't going to play and yet was named in the said 19, I was just hoping this wasn't the case for Ray and his name was just there to make up the numbers.

| How did Adam Neal get on at Bradford?
young prop played u20's all season at Wire and an ex GB under 17's international.
i would hate to see him leave wire, but i think he's fell out with the powers that be at Warrington; so perhaps hes best off with you lot.
Just wondered how he played?

Thought he did OK for his 1st outing , McRae seemed please with him & Cashmere.
He's a local 'Irlam' lad and there seems be an option on him for next season, weather it's a season loan or fully signed remains to be seen .
