10 teams per league. Super 8 format stays as it is as regards middle 8's. Top 6 play offs in SL1, those missing out on top 4 in SL2 keep their points to survive drop into new Championship, with 2 up 2 down. Broadcast partners rule the roost. Heard it here first. 2020 onwards. Video ref rules closer to summer bash rules, refs to clamp down on 'unsporting' conduct, ie. milking penalties.

How has that been agreed when it seems the RFL has no leadership currently?

Ive always thought from a marketing point of View a two tier SL is a good idea

i don't think the actual league structure matters too much, what I think has the biggest impact is how funding is distributed. No point in having two leagues of 10 if funding is directed at the top 10 as the chasm just becomes bigger and bigger. Properly finance the the SL2 in this format and you could make it happen.



Not sure there is a point in having part time teams in there mind, should aim to make it full time.

I actually like the format we have now, though I’d be happy to see an increase to 14 teams.

There needs to be a route for promotion based on on-field performances.

I’d play the weekly rounds and have the current top 4 play-off for for a place in the GF.

Bottom two from the top flight to play the top two from the lower division (13th in SL plays 2nd in Championship with SL team at home, 14th in SL plays 1st in Championship with Championship team at home) - winners retain or gain their place in SL. This would be perfect for the RFL as it would create two of the horrible “million pound games”.

if any off this happens we will be a laughing stock, which lets face it we are anyway. the game does not need other gimmick league system it needs the best 12-14 clubs in the top league.

if this happens can see it being the nail in the coffin, crowds already plummeting and it will be worse with this system. but i think this is nothing but speculation and complete Bollox as cant see any decision on league format being maid until at least november/December this year

I like the concept of 2 x 10 teams with the middle 8s staying, and top 6 SL play offs for GF. I would also like to see the main CC contested between SL1 only, with a minor CC contested between Championship only as a curtain raiser,and hopefully the attraction to fill Wembley would increase,IMHO of course. Championship 1 could contest for trophy,and the final could be at the Summer bash. I agree about the refs clamping down on milking penalties,but i like the VR system,and it just needs a little tweaking.

Why on earth is this around again? It's comfortably the single most moronic idea that anyone has ever had regards what we do with the structure. It's literally just reducing the number of teams in Super League and giving the Championship a new name and hoping Sky don't notice.

A league where you only play 9 other teams would get very dull very fast.
