I do agree with you that it would be great if all clubs could/would allow juniors in for free.'"
I'm really not convinced by this.
Myself and DG were discussing prices of season tickets for kids on the Giants board, and he felt that the £60 at Warrington was too high. My opinion is that at £11 per game, it is a massive saving when the ST includes all home and away games, as well as some cup games, and things like discount in the shop.
I appreciate some clubs feel the need to offer free juniors, but when some clubs are selling thousands of season tickets to juniors, that suggests they don;t need to go free.
Don't forget, these tickets have been built up over the last 15 years, when £10 Junior Season Tickets were introduced. They gradually increased, and led to away games being included. The prices they are at now has been part of a long term strategy, so I do not understand the idea of just now letting all kids in free.
At somehwere like Hudds where crowds have generally been low, and they have a huge stadium to fill, then it is a decent strategy, although I would argue not overly succesful as they have been doing it for years with limited crowds.
Parents expect to pay for their kids now, and £60 for a full season is cracking value.
If somebody attends only home games = £4.60 per game
If somebody attends home and away = £2.30 per game
When you add all the other benefits like the shop discount, Magic Weekend ticket discount and free cup tickets, it works out at about a quid a game.
