I think its awful him selling his gear like this. I would have loved to have been good enough to have a professional career playing Rugby league and winning medals



I would be keeping them for memories sake and then passing them onto kids and grandkids

It'll go a LOT higher than that I should think. Can't recall what his World Cup token-thingy went for but it was into 4 figures iirc.

It's his choice at the end of the day, but surely he could donate some of the proceeds to charity or something? He's a well paid player at the end of the day, he doesn't really need the cash.

In a nut-shell. He gave his last medal's money to charity after pretty much being shamed into doing it. If he wanted to make money for charity, he should have put it in the auction and it would more than likely have gained more money.



He's just greedy.

And because he's a professional sportsman, this makes him different from any 'normal' person flogging stuff on there just because it's the results of his labour?

To me this is not as bad as those people on Flog It and shows like that that sell valuable family heirlooms; War medals and such. They are his, he can do what he likes.



And how many times do you hear RL players saying that its a short career, and that they need to plan for the future? Think Leon Pryce said something like it in this months RLW. Are we jumping on him for saying that, as surely he's earning a few bob...
