| According to Andy Wilson in today's Guardian the Bulls are "sweating" on Sammut's visa coming through before the weekend.
To be honest I've not seen the words "got his visa" anywhere and the Bulls website only said that he was (IIRC) "cleared to play," against Hull, and didn't [iactually[/i say he had the document and I just assumed he had. Maybe he was only allowed to play because it was a benefit match rather than because he had his visa?

| "Sammut, who has been waiting for his Visa, has now been given the all clear to play" Quote from bulls website about lineup for Hull. Would seem pretty certain that he was waiting but now has a visa!
Was it cleared up in the forum last night?
I think the Guardian have this one wrong!

Wasn't mentioned IIRC. As for the paper having it wrong, well, Andy Wilson the reporter concerned is actually out of the country covering a cricket match somewhere, so hopefully you are right.

| I don't think he has it yet. Apparently he was given a special dispensation to play in the Hull game because it was only a friendly, I doubt they could be granted something similar for an actual league game.

I suspect (strongly) that it might also be a bit illegal to do proper work without the visa.

| There have been previous examples of players wishing to remain anonymous being listed as A.N. Other. Perhaps he could be named as Sammut Else?

hi folks, am back in country, and that sammut visa stuff is right - from Peter Hood's mouth at launch yesterday.
but main reason for coming on is to alert you to this:
www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/20 ... per-league
super league preview with brian carney and dave woods, relaunching the set of 6 blog we carried every week last season. as with all web stuff the more hits, and especially responses, the better, so any help much appreciated.
good luck for season, and i shan't bother you again.

| Hmm this confuses me then! I understand he gets the nod for a friendly but why does he need a visa in the first place?
It could be a really stupid question but he has been playing for Crusaders for a full year and was given special disperisition from RL to be signed of the quota!
