He's a producer within the Sony organisation, SyCo is his own production company, RATM are signed up with a different label within Sony - Sony will definitely benefit and so will Cowell if only for the fact that some sad bas'tads are buying the Joe Whatisface single several times whereas they'd only have bought the one copy before.
