For the avoidance of any doubt, DR players aren't generally provided free.
It works a bit like getting a plumber. The plumbing company employs the plumber and pays him a wage. Then you pay the plumbing company £x + VAT for him to pop round and examine your pipes.
For DR players, as opposed to plumbers, the price may be more or less than his actual wage. The club may be happy to take a couple of hundred if the alternative is to have the player standing round, sussling tea.
