What about teams turning up with less than 17 players on a regular basis towards the end of the season when the DR regs tighten up ?

If nothing else, in the generally accepted fact that the player pool is dwindling.

Lannon recalled by Salford at the last minute. That poses a couple of points. Firstly, did he train with Fax during the week? If not why not? If he did what was the point? Secondly it proves the point that we aren't picking our own team whatever RM says. I think yesterday's performance shows that we have lads in reserve who can come in and more than do a job for the team. There's a lot to be said about team spirit and you don't get that by leaving lads out who have trained throughout and shipping someone in on the say so of someone from another club.

Yup.... I can see why you think that...as I had similar thoughts. But evidence suggests using DR players improves the results and doesn't affect the performances of those being left out when finally called upon to play. Scott Turner has had some blinders and whilst Briggsy has hardly had a look in he was excellent at KR.

Reading my sheeite on here it really reads like I'm pro DR.... I'm owt but!

We have and could go on and on and on about the arguments for and against DR but there's another issue here being challenge and that's team selection.

Regards picking the team that's RM's job, no arguments there.

No argument either that he's in a better position to know who to pick and when to pick them, certainly better placed than any of us sat behind a keyboard with only partial knowledge at best concerning up to date team information.

Salford are not picking our team though, we have had players like Evalds train with us only for us to tell him that he wasnt been picked. Surely if Salford are forcing this upon us they would have told us he had to play?

What happens if we name 3 DR in our 19 and all 3 are recalled? Are we stuck with just the remaining 16 for match day?
