Quote Voltaire="Voltaire"Perhaps the club should inform fans that they are only looking to win one out of every five games , or do not expect to have much chance against decent teams before said fans splash out several hundred pounds having been given expectations of challenging for the top 5 and having aspirations of a decent team.
I am sure the end of season table will tell its usual story of bottom half pluckiness...mixed with some downright awfulness with the odd decent performance...'"
I don't 're call anyone claiming we would finish 5 th let alone above that.
I want Sandercock to be a success as he seems a decent intelligent hard working man. He has been incredibly unlucky generally. Unlucky with injuries and look who he pulls out the hat in the cup each time. Some refs decisions well...
His tactics and substitutions have been poor in a lot of games but are improving. He's terrible with the media and his anxieties seem to rub off on the players sometimes.
Our league form is up and down under him so I have doubts about him like many on here but......
He inherited a basket case going nowhere fast when Morgan left. From what I saw of results the youth teams were getting battered each week. Our first team regularly folded.
This takes years to change with a new culture and training. 2years in and our youth team are beating Wigan's.
He seems to improve the majority of his players especially the halves hookers and props. He's bought sensibly and the players clearly want to play for him.
We had an incredibly thin squad which he has rectified in 2 seasons.
Our attack is coming together under this new squad and the defence is no longer soft in the middle.
He seems the type of coach who'll leave a long positive legacy and he's improving as a head coach all the time.
For me stick with him.
Comparing him to Powell is harsh. Some coaches make an immediate impact then implode spectacularly. Let's see how Cas go over the next 2 years.
I think our young forwards give us a bright future...Walkers Green Hodgson Cox Larroyer (if we keep him) and he should get credit for that. He needs a strong assistant to help him. Is Chester who we should replace? I don't know.
We are a mid table club punching above its weight regularly. If he can get us in the top 6 this year that's a serious achievement. It's not beyond us. Our next 8 fixtures will tell us everything.
He has a family living here and will be offered jobs in Aus if Roopy's posts are a judgement of his reputation as a backroom coach over there. We couldn't wait much longer to make him an offer.
Could be a shocker to keep him. Could be a shocker to let him go.
