| Carl Hall was looking for a response from the players after the Hunslet game and asked them to do that very thing for the Coach. Well the response appears to have been missing from what everyone is writing. I await a week on Sundays squad with anticipation.

| Not sure to:be honest and you will be in a better place than me to anticipate that. I have not been able to get down to any games so far so I am reliant on the more knowlegeable ones amongst us to maybe answer that.
Are we suffering at the:moment due to injuries, and is that forcing the coaches hand?

| Quote weighman="weighman"The manner in which we have lost the last 2 games is worrying.
I know we have a lot of injuries at the moment BUT there appears to be something else that's wrong. Is it the dual reg situation . Is it that some players are not good enough , very disappointed with 2 of our 3 2nd row forwards. Is it tactics , we have been under the hammer at the start of the last 2 games. Discipline is also a problem, 1 player has spent more time in the stand than on the pitch !
Cannot imagine what the crowd will be a week on Sunday when season ticket holders have to pay.
Action is needed to stop the rot.'"
We have a Coach who seems outwardly to accept the problems from last season ... BUT ... unless we are rolling all over poor opposition, our discipline is woeful, probably worse than last season.
You mention a particular player, who I have touched on elsewhere, and who should not in future be picked to play for this Club.
You are right to be concerned about attendances, because in a week we have crashed out of the CC in embarrassing style and blown any advantage the win at Keighley gave us in the league by today's surrender.
Oh well, we still have the I-pro thingy to play for. Happy days.

| I know this is treading over old ground but I do wonder how much say in what players we signed Gary had, as all of them seem to have come via Craig Harrison "Agency" and he will of course not waived his fee for them signing for us...makes you think maybe we've been shoved the duffers no one else wanted in some cases.
There was much hype about videos of players in action but any one can look great in a 5 min video if you have a seasons worth of footage to work on, I do fear we've fallen in to the same trap as last year signing unknowns in a lot of cases and at the mercy of DR for key positions where we clearly dont have enough quality cover.
We are suffering with injuries atm but the players coming in should be trying to keep hold of the shirt, I have heard good things about Kieran Cross and was scoring tries for fun and best of all a Donny lad but doesnt get a start.

| Cross had a start against keighley and its a shame to say he's just not good enough. Not strong enough defensively to make a difference. He will
Come good against the poorer sides for scoring tries but I think that's his extent.
Can't see picketts being back in the team how many chances does one person get?

| Moonlight , we have injuries , but we have a squad of 30 players.

Think its a bit unfair to pick out Cross .

| I will post on this tomorrow, although you don't have to be Einstein to see what is wrong. They are giving up! Because all they do is defend because we have no attack and they are knackered.
I know one thing ... I ain't watching that crap! As a season ticket holder I stopped watching that crap long before the end of last season.
Players who were shoite last season are taking the p/ss in beating us up this season.
I don't really relish watching Carl excuse this latest debacle ... he deserves better!
Sackings are in order!
I thought we had turned the corner and good times were ahead, but without Carr and Feka we are useless in attack.
Sort the Howden thing for goodness sake!
Goodnight

| Surely Carl has some responsibility in the matter , no he doesn't coach the team or play ,but he can lead he must see everyone isn't pulling together. May be the wins in the first two matches papered over the cracks.

| I think we need Gary Thornton to appear on In The Dugout. Here are seven questions for him:
Q1) Having seen the pack beaten in the last two matches, do you feel we have the strength and power to compete up-front with the better sides in the league?
Q2) Why is the discipline so poor? Yellow cards for backchat and late tackles are very unprofessional. Do we discipline players for such behaviour?
Q3) In the York game, did it not cross the mind of any of the coaches to suggest that in the second half we kick off into the sun? It was a nightmare seeing the ball coming out of the sinking sun, as Matty Welham knows all too well from what happened to him in the first half.
Q4) Chopping and changing the side on a weekly basis cannot be a good thing. Should we be aiming to get three Hull players on long-term loan deals to help with selection consistency?
Q5) I believe part of the reason why we give away so many penalties is because we're constantly on the back foot due to being over-powered by the opposition. We have to resort to non-legal means to slow them down. We could help ourselves by making sure the third man in the tackle takes the legs instead of also going high. Will we be working on this? At times, the York players were still able to keep moving forwards even when we had three men in the tackle.
Q6) Having conceded 94 points in the last two matches, supporters don't just have alarms bells ringing, their heads are exploding. Having seen four competitive matches, where do you think we will finish in the league?
Q7) What would you say to supporters who are thinking of giving up on the team after what has happened in the last 15 months?

| The two teams that we have been humiliated by both had proper playmakers who were nippy and inventive.
They both had forwards of some repute.
We beat Keighley because we had some of that on loan from Hull plus Carr for a large spell.
Without those we don't have any stars, nothing to make a well set up team like York worry in particular.
You could see who was going to win in the warm up for Christ's sake.
It was TANGIBLE, you could feel it!
They looked FITTER, more muscular and more importantly they looked like they were confident and we're up for it.
More ORGANISED.
We kicked off like rank amateurs against York spilling the ball repeatedly and looking like we had sh/t our shorts in fear!
No Feka to drive us forward, it was all left to Aizue, who is no spring chicken now to do the hard work.
One man!
If we are to carry on with this nonsense DR we need someone has big as Abdul in the halves.
Little guys won't cut it unless they are brilliant.
Fullback being chopped and changed is a recipe for disaster.
Halves not familiar with each other and classy is a recipe for disaster.
Forwards not big enough is a recipe for disaster.
Put them together and you have the Dons at the moment ... disaster!
A side runs on fitness, organisation and confidence ... oh and support.
I suggest that the organisation is what is letting this side down, the others can be fixed.
But if there is no money, if there is no will to respond then we will have a fair old rocky season ahead.
The only way is to go out and get three class players from somewhere that the opposition have heard of and aren't on loan from Hull.
I am not interested in excuses about availability and money, just get a bank loan out or there will be no support!
When teams take on the Dons they look at us and think 'who are you,who are you?'
Because apart from Aizue, they've never heard of any of us ... nobodies.
The table already shows where we are at after only three games ... alright we have lost one game, but we are seventh and all teams above us are decent and all the ones below are not.
We are the best team out of the crap, and that's about right ... but with our confidence shot through.
Time for change ... now!

| Thornton talks about Fortress Keepmoat - I've seen more stable sandcastles.
I understand it's a new side but yesterday's side looked like they'd never met before.
If it's possible for us humble supporters to see from the stands what the ref is or isn't letting go (defence moving up before the ball's played, laying on at the ptb etc) then how come the coach doesn't seem to see it and get the message onto the field?
Kick offs: we can't defend them, we can't vary them, we can't use them as an attacking ploy. Why not kick for touch to force a scrum for a change - York did it to good effect.
I'm sorry but when last year's cast offs come back and we make them look like quality, something is seriously wrong. Ok, they have points to prove but weren't we expecting this?
A bloke in the crowd before kick off said that York were confident that they had the best pack in the division. Again, if the Donny fans know it, why don't the coaching staff apparently don't know it? If they did, they didn't seem to show it by altering tactics. Why bother trying to take them on up front (or persist in trying to take their pack on) if it's obviously not working?
We just haven't got a clue.
