It's more like Steve O'Connor is a rally car driver and is being navigated round the course by Stevie Wonder. The only thing he's got wrong is the coaching appointments. Bringing back Steve Mac, then Cullen and then Betts. Not one of them has worked out. The team this year have been garbage - even our victories have been narrow ones over teams that others put 50 or 60 on. We got plenty of people turning up, but they've been served up regular homages to the God of Drivel. Change is needed in the coaching set up and fast, so that someone can sort it out before next year.

Excellent team, well coached.What is it,4 defeats in the last two seasons so far, or something like that.I think they went undefeated away from home in the league last year.Great club,great team and great coach.Hat's off to them,I hope they qualify for the Grand Final and win it and make a successful bid for SL in 2015.

Really don't know what conclusions to draw ? , is it the surreal situation you as a club has found yourself in , being the first genuine Franchisee , you are breaking new ground , new problems , new challenges , it's S..T at the moment , but it'll get better

FWIW, I think Betts should go. I'm not one for bagging the coaches but he's made a bad start and got worse. He may be able to pull things round in time but even though we have 3 years I believe we have to make an immediate impact in order to attract better players, sponsors and more fans.



In his defence he has taken over at an incredibly difficult time with not a lot to play for but for me, the damage is done and we need an experienced coach at this level.

Just look forward to Sooper League guys. When we (Leigh) got promoted in 2005, though we realised we wouldn't be in the play-offs, there wasn't TOO much negativity. BUT our signings were either 'past it' or untried at SL. Only Leafa, Wilshere & Stapleton got signed by other SL clubs following our relegation. You have made some 'decent signings' though. BUT there is no panic, you've got 3 years at least. Some Leigh fans reckon our coach at the time Darren Abram was 'pants' and he coached us to promotion, so in 12 months time, if Betts is still your coach - then it must because he's done ok.

If I was Steve O'Connor, I wouldn't have picked Betts, just because he'd been in RU for so long. I'm sure BETTER/more experienced RL coaches, would have loved the job. Be intresting to know who DID apply for the chemic's job.

Anyway, good luck in the play-offs, you should win at Sheffield - honest !!!

Really sorry to see the state your club seems to be in heading for Super League, hope its just a transitional period between the 2 leagues and you enjoy your 3 years minimum.



Would just like to say that myself and family enjoyed the hospitality at Widnes, all very welcoming and willing to talk.



You don't get this often but the stewarding was top notch also, better than the brown shirts at the Halliwell-Jones.
