Just how have you done in games with Thorman playing to games without Thorman playing this year?



I'll be the first to admit I haven't seen him as often as a lot but in the games I have (1st half v Leeds apart) he hasn't been the worst player on the pitch. Even in the Leeds game when he was taken off Hull got worse in the 2nd half.



Maybe he is pretty poor but if you watch most half backs behind a beaten pack they will look awful.

We have lost loads with him, and loads without him



Tbf, if you dont count the first 5 games which are obviously looking like some sort of miracle at the moment, we have only won 4 games. Iirc, Thorman played in two of them

He was brought in to add a new dimension to our kicking game and take control of organising the team and 'pushing them around the park'. Had he done that he would have probably been forgiven for consistently producing some of the worst defensive displays from a Hull player I have ever seen in a long time of watching. He didn't offer any of the things he was brought in to do and therefore was one of the biggest liabilities in the team this season and that is saying something. Undoubtedly in the bottom echelon of players that I have seen play for Hull in terms of level of performance.

I just wonder how much better a sean long of this world would have done in a team with a beaten pack and a lack of runners. I must admit his kicking game was pretty woeful but still think he's had the failing s of others heaped on his shoulders and as such targetted by the fans leading to a crash in confidence.

We could sign the Aussie test team and still fail to make the play-offs due to the completely awful game plan, lack of set moves, lack of motivation etc etc etc. Still doesnt take away from the fact that Thorman has been an awful, awful player for us though

If he has had a crash in confidence then he isn't mentally strong enough to be playing at this level. Comparing Long to Thorman is comparing chalk and cheese. Hull's pack, problems though it has certainly had, hasn't actually been beaten up in every game either. Both of this season's derbies are testament to that. Failure to hold the ball has been a major issue, and when we have had field position our halves have not had the skill or guile to create enough chances to score points. ATEOTD the very last quality a half back needs is to be weak mentally and suffer a crisis of confidence. The cocky variety that make things happen are a far better bet which is why I look forward to next year (a bit).

Thats what happens when you rely on loan players. Still, at least Craig Hall will have a medal to show for his season.

Thats the worrying thing about next season if the chuckle brothers are still around.
