If Ellis won't be ready next season, when he'll be 22, then I think he's a poor signing. People learn best in different ways (watching, listening, doing), but he'll likely learn a lot more playing than being mentored (even by a modern great) - IMO.



Give him a little bit of patience and he could really blossom - especially relative to the rest in SL, as the old guard retire and those in their prime look at big money in the NRL.

Long is OOC at the end of this season. No need to get rid, just don't offer him a new contract. Simples.

In the same position as he was before Long got injured, it's the Heremaia deal whcih affects Obst, not signing a halfback.

You're right, he needs to play otherwise don't bother signing him. PLaying reserve grade will do him no good, might aswell have stayed at Leigh.

I think Agar said last week he wanted plenty of options in the pivots,just like Hudds,so can't see Obst going anywhere,regardless if Long get's another year,or we sign another half.
