| Fantastic game from Ellis, it was like watching a proper old-school half-back. Great game from Horne also, who showed again that he should have become a full-back all of those years ago. I still feel that we should move Horne to centre for next season, as his defence and broken play running would better suit his game than no6 (where he lacks flair and pace)

Throws up an interesting point. Had Ellis received the ball where Horne did for his first try would he have had the pace to outstrip the Bradford cover and score ? How much faster is Ellis than Horne would you say ?

| Kicking was great but I wasn't impressed by his passing game, it was only his first game in the halves though.
If McKinnon's fit he has to come back, class player who creates so much for us.

I would suggest Horne is slightly quicker than Ellis....however when did we see the creative kicking from Horne that Ellis displayed last night, I would say both are good defensively.

It was hardly a foot race was it? Once he'd made the break the defence has to turn to chase, it was a prop and 2nd rower. Then he ran an angle to beat Brett 'usain bolt' Kearney. It was a good try, but I'd have backed all our backs to finish that one.

I wouldn't have put any money on Tony Martin making it to the line!

Not so sure that Tony Martin would have done. Anyway the question to the other poster who was criticising Horne's pace as a number 6 was a simple one. How much faster is Ellis than Horne ? Nothing to do with whether it was a foot race or not.

I was commenting on the point about Horne lacking pace to be a 6. Nothing else.
Ellis' kicking game was outstanding last night. Nothing to do with Horne's perceived lack of pace though.

I don't think Horney has the pace he had years ago, but last night showed he still has a decent amount for short bursts, Horney had a great game, as did Ellis, which is great news for us all.

Forgot about Martin. You asked 2 questions, first you asked if Ellis would have had the pace to 'outstrip' the defence as Horne did? I replied that I think all our backs could.
The point of Ellis being faster, well, why would he need to be? He has a different game to Hornes. Hornes game is a running and support one, he's not as fast as he was that's were the problem lies with him.
