The example Cooke uses in his article is a good one and shows an alarming lack of application from certain players in that particular situation. But in general I would say that the effort is there - however it's quality of the basic skills of passing and tackling that have been the biggest factor in our recent struggles. There is no excuse for it at this stage of the season and it's time every player in the squad upped their quality level more than their effort level.

I do agree with the part about Kirmond chasing back but didn't Green do exactly the same thing against Cas. Not seen anybody mention that yet, is he the only one showing any effort?

Greens chase back at Cas was super. Green must be the fastest forward we've had, ask Eden

I am a big fan of Tom, but I have to agree, his mind is elsewhere but at Hull.

The "Any Kind Of Weather" comment is just , I support Hull FC, I wouldn't be going to Perpignan next weekend for 36 hours if I didn't, but it doesn't mean I can't say what I see, and in the last three games we've looked incredibly poor, devoid of ideas and guilty of a distinct lack of effort and application.



The fans do not need to "raise our game", the team need to make good on their constant promises.

Spot on Standee. We're not bad supporters for criticising. To use a cliche "If they can't walk the walk, don't talk the talk".



However bad they've been playing, we'll all still be there in numbers, supporting them all the way.

I don't go to every game, but I support the team 100%, as you say, it's down to them to walk the walk.



O'Meley,Lynch,Galea,Briscoe,Yeaman and a fair few others are stealing a wage this season.

For me it's as if the team and certain players have settled into a comfort zone again. I'm not sure whether its a lack of effort in the games or in preparation but the lack of execution and application shown in the last 3 games shows something is not right somewhere be it effort of mental preparation.



It's also time we stopped hearing from the players but instead they showed us on the pitch just how hard they have worked in training.

As has been said its time the talking stopped and action started.



Criticising doesn't make anyone a bad fan/supporter and i'll praise the club/team/players but I wont wear rose tinted glasses either.

I can't even fault Lynch's effort.

Not sure I agree about O'Meley , I think he seems more committed this year than previously if anything. Of course the problem is he's too old to perform at the top of his game for as long as we need him to. Lynch , Galea and Ellis have had their better days and the theory of these guys being leaders on the field and helping the youngsters perform just hasn't worked out and with Watts and Westerman looking distinctly average this year we have an ineffectual pack that any aggressive opposition soon nullify. PG probably knows it and he's got all his eggs in one basket hoping his aging "stars" will fire up for 3 games starting with Catalans.

I think O'Meley hasn't been bad this season .
