He's been a great servant to the club (paid handsomely mind) but he's only really now living up to the clubs expectations for great half backs; available for a maximum of one game out of every two and be doubtful for the game he is available. He's had some bad injuries and his diabetes won't have helped matters. We all know what he is capable of when playing alongside a creative HB partner but at 27/28 (??) he should still be in his prime.



We haven't had value for money out of either of our first choice halves this season and I am not expecting to get that next season either.



I know we're entering a critical phase in the run up to the playoffs but I think I'd give Nicklas a go from the start of the game in the position he prefers.

Just seen Horney wandering round Glasshoughton with his Mrs and he didn't look to be carrying an injury.

Being able to walk, and being able to compete in a full game of RL are two completely different things tbh.



FWIW, and i've said it before, I appreciate that RH is a great club man but he is well past his best. We need to offload him or significantly reduce his salary IMO. He's a squad/utility player on an international wage aswell has having at lease £500k in his testimonial efforts.

When fit he has shown enough this season to warrant his place, unfortunately a player cannot predict his injuries!!

He has been an outstanding figure for hullFC and he deserves the recognition but due to injuries and the diabetes its obviously took its toll. We can't afford to be paying his kind of wage for a bit part player. It's a shame but face the facts.

True but you can predict that when he does get injured, he will take alot longer than other players of his age to regain his fitness due to his diabetes.



Horne is great on the field but the problem at the moment is getting him there and keeping him there.

Yes but its not about how much the club are paying him, it about how much of the salary cap he takes up which is improtant. You wont find another 6 of his quality taking up so little of the salary cap space, even if he only plays half the season. As I said in an earlier post, Horne will lose a massive amount of value when Yeaman becomes eligible for the testimonial salary cap discount. I know it seems unfair but sometimes things have to be looked at from a business point of view and unless Horne can stay fit for the majority of next season, we need to look to get rid, which is a shame cos Horne has been a great player for us and should be a player in his prime.



I don't think Horne would be that much of a problem if Longy wasn't out injured just as much, personally I think we need to sign a half back who can play 9 also, so when all parties are fit, we can play Berro at 13, and still use the two hooker bench system.
