A few years ago there were more teams than that spending full cap. Wonder if the recession is biting?

So, let me get this straight - I just need to understand what the accusation is here: Kath Hetherington has allegedly lied in print about how much Hull FC has spent on the salary cap? Is that it? And she has done it for what reason? To allegedly trouser the underspend? Let me know if I have that right, please. I'm not sure specifically what I'm supposed to feel indignant or betrayed about.

All I will say is that I believe 100% that we have underspent the salary cap this season by over half a million quid. Take any conclusions from that as you see fit and believe it or dont thats upto you.

The only possible way that this can be clarified is once we know which players are being binned at the enf of the season, I am not going to be polite and say "released" because that would insinuate some level of professionalism in our dealings with them, and I firmly believe that the people who get paid off at the end of the season are being binned.



So, we have £500,000 to use, that should see the back of everyone who has a contract that we don't want to be keeping. We can but hope.

I don't know whether to believe it or not. My gut feeling is that Kath would be careful not to publish a lie and it's unlikely that she would be mistaken to that extent so it's more likely that there is a contextual or timing misunderstanding. I suppose the position might have changed over time due to Crocker not coming, Byrne retiring, Hall and Maloney going on loan (not sure how that works), Broughton coming on loan spells, Cordoba joining us short-term and Tansey joining us early. Don't know also if Carvell leaving freed up some expected spend. Hell, it's difficult enough as it is with the basic rules. I know I wouldn't want to be the one in charge of managing the thing.
