| I have lost my sky signal too but you can still watch anything you have recorded on sky+. It's stored on your Sky box hard drive.

Thats such bad advice in so many way. Firstly, it won't get your signal back, that ruddy snow is causing it, atmospheric conditions. Also I'm not sure advising people to climbing on their roofs in the middle of this weather is a particularly good idea.

Actually, a build up of snow on the dish could easily be causing the problem. Water is a superb absorber of microwaves, which is what the satellite signal consists of. We had the same problem a few days ago, and we also lose the signal temporarily in a downpour as the water can't leave the dish fast enough.
Fully agree on your second point, though.

Just tried again, all very odd. Sky HD box with boots'n'all on still not co-operating. Sky+ box with the wife's recorded neighbours etc seems to work?
Never mind, weather permitting less than 24 hours to the real deal.

Oh yeah, I appreciate that. What I mean is though is that you would still be very unlikely to get your signal back while we still have this bad weather and due to the shape and design of the dish snow shouldn't stay on them particularly long.

Do a google on how to get the service engineers menu on your sky box and do a clean up on it. See if that helps.
