It’s all opinions on here but to see some are underwhelmed by pryce’s signing. Wow!.Some folk just love to moan.
The kid was signed up to play Nrl.
Myler played top level SL so I reckon he knows we’ve got a good player.
As for pryces defence and decision making ?
Well mikey Lewis has issues with both and yet he won
Mos..
Who has said they're underwhelmed?
I know we all like to have a moan from time to time but I can't say I've seen any comments saying they are underwhelmed?
Think it's fair to say most if not all have said what a good signing Pryce is, that he is young and has lots of potential, has pace etc. Again many have said he was a raw talent at Huddersfield but after 18 months in Aus and the NRL environment he'll be coming back a better player.
Think most are genuinely excited about the signing of Pryce, what he'll bring to the team already and the potential he has to be a genuine top class half, but just tempered by being realistic in expectations from when he first pulls on the shirt. Whilst some 'sour' fans from our close neighbours have said he's not all that, can't get a game in the NRL, lazy, poor attitude, not worth the money he'll be on blah blah blah, the more sensible ones admit he's a very good signing. Our recent history with a younger half that couldn't get a game in the NRL in Clifford didn't pan out too badly did it, even across the river it was a similar situation with Schneider.
All in all Pryce has the ability and thankfully we now have the Coach and environment for a player to really develop with the likes of Sezer, Asiata and Cust to learn from.
A fantastic signing for Hull FC and you certainly can't argue that since Richie Myler and his father in law have got on board in tandem (now that Pearson has left the club) that the club are not afraid to pay big money for the right kind of players that will take the club back to being SL title contenders.
You've certainly got a very young and talented player and who still hasn't reached anywhere close to what his undoubted potential could deliver in a couple of years.
Without naming my source (from Bradford, and who is as close to the family as you could be)
I was told that this was on the cards probably 2 weeks prior to when his signing was actually announced, and if you wonder why it went through so quickly, then the crux of the deal is that Newcastle Knights saw him as being so well down the pecking order, and that they also wanted to get his large salary (for a non playing employee that was under contract) off their books for future player signings.
Fans don't care what a player is being paid,But I have been told that the salary that Pryce is on is far higher than any player in SL who is of a similar age and that it is also far more than he was on at the Knights.
Looks like the future is going to be very bright in the Black and White side of Hull as that this is nowhere close to being the end of the spending spree
