As a city Edinburgh is far superior for a weekend away. Cardiff has obvious strengths, the stadium location but for an overall package i personally prefer Edinburgh

Be better if they just scrapped it and just have 26 games home & away

A great way to kick start the season. Have been to Edinburgh twice and Cardiff once and have to say I much preferred the atmosphere outside the ground at Cardiff. Was in the top tier in the ground which spoilt the atmosphere, but a great weekend anyway.

It's only a great way to start the season if it's supported though! Otherwise it'll be an absolute disaster. Previously it's benefited from being on a bank holiday weekend. Will it have that luxury? Whilst the weather hasn't been brilliant in previous years, will Jan/Feb time appeal to people?



It's a great idea to kickstart the season but i'm not so sure it'll get the support the RFL crave whether it's in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Dublin or London at that time of year.

A lot of people who are not keen now may have a different view when they've been deprived of rugby league for four months.

Cant see how it would work in February could be freezing snow ice! How many would put day off work to go down. Possibility of driving to and back in bad weather could also be a problem.

Never went to Cardiff, so will probably checking this venue out next year. I liked the Murrayfield experience, apart from have to climb forty steps or so to get refreshments, but as I said when Murrayfield was chosen as the Magic Weekend venue, Scotland and Edinburgh, nice places that they are, is not really rugby league territory.

The only place I would watch Wakey and Cas outside the District would be in a final
