The cap has levelled the league out full of poor quality and robotic teams, but when Sky offer an awful deal because of how poor the game is atm no doubt you’ll be the first to moan, id rather have 3-4 strong teams and the rest be average than 12 crap teams which is the way it’s heading

I don't get how that works? How does a salary cap make all those great players in the 3-4 strong teams suddenly crap when they play at other teams. It shouldn't reduce the quality of the league, only spread it out. Of course some players have left for Oz, but they were doing that anyway and the most successful ones come from Bradford/Dewsbury and Hull with a St thrown in. Hardly hurting Wigan.

At present there well over one million in the red . I though the cap was bought in to stop all the so called best players going to Wigan . Now they say clubs can have player in that do not count on the cap so is there a cap ?

It's an interesting take to suggest that SoL is overrated; he's been consistently one of the best players in SL for a number of years - and still has the ability to influence a game - in both positive and negative ways. I do agree though that he is well past his best - and has resorted to a bit of skulduggery and gamesmanship to compensate - as is often the way with big men who've lost their physical edge. Think Adrian Morley, Jamie Peacock, Nick Fozzard - all of whom resorted to the clothes line method of tackling a man who had beaten them for footwork.



Top player though - he'll retire with the respect of most people who understand the game; and he'll probably be in extreme pain for the rest of his life.

He's definitely the grand master of skulduggery and gamesmanship...and not just over the last couple of seasons...for example the only time he bends his back in the tackle is when he targets the knees. For me it's just a shame he hasn't channelled his efforts more positively rather than employing every trick he can to influence/manipulate the game, opposition players, referees etc etc
