| What makes a legend. Very rarely does a club define a legend with any kind of reward. If it's simply down to winning trophies over the last 10 years or so you would probably only have half a dozen candidates. I quite often find that the term legend s over used but on the other hand I'm sure most club supporter's can form opinions on who is and is not a legend.
A good club club man's probably a thing of the past and I have been lucky enough to see quite a few in a trinity shirt over the years.
I would say that both Wally AND Ray were both rugby legends that I was fortunate to see in the red white and blue.

| Quote FIL="FIL":2jso0zn6We'll have to agree to disagree on that one Vasty...definitely one on my top 3 Trinity players of all the time I've been watching (nearly 40 years). The other two being Wally Lewis and Toppo
'" and Dave Topliss are also my top 3 Trinity players. it was an absolute joy to watch all 3 playing Rugby League.

Not arguing, different interpretations, you and a few others seem to be talking about players who are legends in the game. For me a club legend at a club as prestigious as ours the bar should be set very high IMHO.

| You are on your own with this one Vasty.
If you want to differentiate between a legend of the game and a legend at Belle Vue then so be it, but Ray Price is a legend

This thread is about tacklers.

| Pound for pound, Billy Conway was pretty good, just not as memorable as some others

I think if you read the thread again I'm not, see Spookdownunder post. Nor is this forum representative of the whole supporter base either.

| All I will contribute to this debate is my avatar, 46 years of watching Trin and total agreement about Ray Price, Toppo and Wally. Lewis. RL legends all of them and gave me memories that will last a lifetime.

He still says he is a legend Vasty.
All that was said is that he is a legend. He is. Accepted across the globe.
He wasn't at Wakefield very long so isn't regarded in the same way as others are at Wakefield for that reason only.
But please don't keep bringing this up. This thread is about tacklers. If someone describes their favorite player as a legend you are just going to have to let it go like Idina.

Jeez man, so did I. I said he was a legend for Australia and Parramatta not Trinity. I wouldn't mind if I didn't make it clear but I did, it was the same with JD. It's like you and a few others on here want to be offended.
Of course he's a RL legend without question, but a Trinity legend at 35 and one season, that is very much open to debate which is what a forum is for is it not?

| In the hope of resolving this; The dictionary definition of legend is: one who is renowned for outstanding deeds or qualities whether real or fictitious.
So it can be one game or one year or a lifetime as there is no timescales
Back on thread and its Trevor Skerret for me
