As an accountant I understand your logic. However if it gets to wages day and I have no physical cash, then where do I actually get it? If you can solve that one for me, I'm all ears. Anyone would think I actually enjoyed selling Tim smith. It was either that or admin? Take your pick |

I would not advise you on the finances of the club but on human nature. If you do not stop these rumours then people put 2 + 2 together and come up with 5. You are trying to encourage people to buy season tickets etc. To do this they need to feel some hope for seeing a team that can avoid relegation. They don't expect them to be pushing for the top 4 but they don't want to think that by the time the season starts the team will be so decimated they have week upon week of below par performances. I know you have wages to pay which I presume will reduce when contract expire in November but give them something to encourage them to buy.

The encouragement is that we will have pretty much the same team plus some additions if we sell the season tickets.

What would you like me to say? Billy slater and Darren Lockyer are coming? It's very easy to sit there saying encourage people! I've promised them a club until end of 2014. Without further funds I can't sign anyone. Come up with a better solution? |

You are talking to the converted who will be happy to know that the club will survive regardless. It is however those who turned up maybe because of the cheap tickets that you have to convince to purchase at full price. The majority are probably relatively new to the game or returning after a spell away. These are the ones you need to work on a strategy to renew. If you think that's what you are doing I say good luck.
