Westgate Run!

Not sure what to think when Aussies/Kiwis come over here and effectively declare themselves for England/other home nation before they have even played a game in SL.



To me it seems a bit pre-emptive - it could be considered confident but could also be seen as arrogance that playing for England is something that is quite easy to achieve.



If somebody has asked him the question directly and he has answered it then fair enough but i always feel a bit meh when players talk about international ambitions before they have proved themselves over here.



Obviously hope he lives up to his ambitions though.

I believe his mums English, not sure if he has a UK passport.

Haven't read anywhere else but the audio interview that's posted on the first page, the interviewer asks him, would he ever fancy playing for England because he's qualified and tbh he was pretty noncommittal saying he wouldn't rule it out but would consider it if he was asked, from the way he was speaking it didn't sound he had given it a right lot of thought.

His dad was born in Southampton mate.

Just goes to show how things can appear totally different if taken out of context.

As Shifty says he was asked the question, to which he responded in an open ended kind of way.

I did put in my post that if he was just answering a direct question on the subject then that's fair enough

He did but he answered by saying he'd had very little to do with them so it would be nice to meet up.

He is'nt, surely you know that by now!!!
