| Quote Jizzer="Jizzer"The last time it was spoke about settling for a revamped Belle Vue or another site it wasn't viable and the Council/Yorkcourt probably knew this. Don't fall for anymore stalling tactics and red herrings, Newmarket already has plans drawn up and approved....they want us to get desperate and settle for anything and are continuing playing the long game while they push more planning apps through at Newmarket. Also who cares if the land at Newmarket was unkept, Yorkcourt agreed to deliver a stadium in the return for the very valuable chunk of land they've received at the expense of the tax payer, the fact the council keep pointing us to other sites despite this shows where their allegiances lie. If I were to bet, I still don't think this will get settled without going to court.'"
Detailed plans for the stadium were never submitted let alone approved. It would be just as quick to get detailed plans drawn up for BV. We can hold out for NM if we want, but in the cold hard reality of life we would be waiting forever. The club can't afford this even if the threat of SL expulsion was dangling over our heads.
As an aside I think the app for the new Henry Boot job being heard today or next week. It could be a pivotal week.

Could have sworn I saw some technical cad plans for the stadium posted on the planning portal for Newmarket years ago, but I could be wrong!

You did.
The stadium at Newmarket has a full planning consent and was approved on 26th June 2013 (13/00766/REM)

I thought they resubmitted when it ran out because I posted some images of the ground still on the application on here, next to the Newcold building. I've still got them tbh.

Probably June 2018 as consents are generally for 5 years.

| Reading some of the earlier comments in this thread, regarding the possibility of the club buying the stadium back.
I did hear a while back from someone who works with 88m group, within the property investment sector, that Manni is losing his interest in the land, so this could be a possibility, though would think if he was selling it on, it would be to make a profit.

Cant imagine there would be much interest from other parties outside of the club unless it was on the cheap. At the moment development opportunities are very limited and the club have made it quite clear they wont pay above market value on the rental agreement, if true I would think MH would be happy at this point cutting his ties and walking away without making any extortionate losses, but then again you never know.
Really would like to see us take back ownership of Belle Vue, If I am honest I have always preferred the option of staying at Belle Vue and redeveloping (If plausible and up the the right standard) over Newmarket but that is just me, the market value of the land prior to sale was £600,000 but it took a while to sell so I am guessing 88M group probably payed less than that.

| Today, whilst walking through the centre of Barnsley, I stopped for a while and watched the operatives of Henry Boot contractors dismantling the temporary Mayday Green market. The market has only been there for about two years whilst they built the newly opened permanent market. the almost new structural steel portal frame columns, portal rafters and cantilever beams could, with little adaptation, have been perfect to provide a full-length stand along the western terrace of Belle Vue. I say this with confidence being a qualified structural engineer. Even the roof sheeting would have been satisfactory.
I asked one of the operatives what was going to happen to all the reclaimed steelwork and he said that it had been purchased in its entirety by a farmer for re-erction on his land as a "shed". When he asked why my interest, I told him that it could have proven perfect as a new stand for Trinity. His response was that Trin should have got their bid in earlier.
I appreciate that Trinity's need for this is at the moment purely hyperthetical, but should a revamp of Belle Vue be the final solution then what a wonderful chance would have been missed.
