Not sure about your captain comment, remember Turner was in a team of all stars so it couldn't have been that difficult.
In some respects yeah - but part of the success was the determination to win, epitomised by Rocky who would take no nonsense from anyone, friend or foe. Many times you could see Rocky put his team mates in order on the pitch something which we don't see much of lately.

I was one of those fortunate kids watching the 60s teams i can honestly say i have not seen a better leader since and i remember him delivering a 3 piece suite to our house and him and his mate were to take a big black sideboard away when they picked it up it was really heavy, he turned to my mam and said " bloody hell misses have you got your old man in hear". a truly great player and will be greatly missed. RIP ROCKY.

It's right. I was in the company of his brother tonight and sadly Rocky passed away Friday. |

Ok.
Well in that case, we have lost one of the most iconic individuals ever to be associated with this club. Even the term a legend does not go far enough. Very sad, and made worse by the efforts people made to try and honour his contribution during his life which were constantly rebuffed! |

Remember playing Wigan at wembley looked like Wakey was going to get blown away in first ten minutes turner went round all the Wakey side giving them all a good talking to the rest is history captains like him come along once in a life time it was a honour to watch him play
