The Met Office has warned up to 15cm of snow could fall by tomorrow morning.

It upgraded its severe weather warning to amber for West Yorkshire and said the snow would continue until Saturday night.

Temperatures are expected to drop to -2°C on Sunday and cold conditions will remain well into next week.

The Met Office said: “The public should be aware of the potential for severe disruption to transport and to power supplies.”[/i

It has been grim all day though. Even if the snow eases off by this evening I'm sure a lot of people had already decided to give the game a miss. Of the four people I generally go with I'm the only one who was definitely still going.

At least the club has bit the bullet in good time.

It hasn't snowed for about 3 hours and even then it was light. I'm pretty close to the ground and most of the snow has melted. It just seems strange we didn't wait until around about 2ish to decide.

I think you'll find a major factor in the decision was a financial one. The reduction in attendance that the weather would have brought would hit the club hard and thats something that it can't afford. Lets hope it improves for sunday.

Yes. The 19 man squad announcement isn't really a hard a fast law of the game, it is just a SL guideline that clubs all abide by to keep things transparent and uphold the integrity of team selection. The laws state that you should post your team selection on the door of your dressing room and hand a copy to the MC at least 60 minutes before scheduled KO and you can only deviate from that team with permission from the MC, so a player being injured in the warm-up is the most common example. The final team selection does not strictly have to have come from the 19 man squad, but questions might be asked by the MC if players were seemingly deliberately concealed as being available for selection if they were not in the 19 and if indeed they end up playing. As such, if Agar did feel that a couple of extra days might mean that a player could be available for the re-arranged fixture who was not in the previously announced squad for tonight, then I would expect him to make this publicly known today so the Leeds management would be aware of a possible change for Sunday. The same of course works the other way around.

It could actually count against us in regards team selection. Anyone carrying a knock, maybe like Ali or Poore, who has been struggling to recover in time for the following weeks game now has less recovery time available, making it more of a risk playing them. Om paper Cas is probably a more winnable game than the champions so Agar will have to make an informed decision on whether to play them and risk them missing Good Friday.

I too was going to have a rant until it was pointed out that it would have given us a longer break.

30 Years of watching Wakey has made me that way!



Point is though would you risk someone who isn't 100% or save them and target the Cas game?
