Once again a rugby team playing in a football stadium gets the boot.

Huddersfield giants are to play there next three home games at The Shay Halifax, to allow for pitch repairs and grass growing at the Galpharm stadium.

This to me is a team who can't fulfill there home fixtures in there home ground and not a muffle from the RFL. IMO this is wrong VERY wrong.We have had Wigan at Sale and now this. Do you think the FA would allow this kind of thing in the premier league. What ever the RFL should NOT.

I don't see the issue as both are just temporary grounds until they can find somewhere suitable in Sheffield.

Blackpool FC had to rearrange their fixtures to have away fixtures for first few weeks of their season as their ground wasn't ready. They worked with the FA to do so. Surely our sport's teams should be able to negotiate fixtures to suit ground needs prior to the start of the season.

Isn't there a game between Sheffield and Dewsbury (it may already have recently been played) where Bramall Lane and The Don Valley stadium aren't available and the new venue is a school playing field. Now that is wrong.

I don't really know the history of it - did Ken Davey intervene to save the footie club and just pick up the Giants as part of the deal?

Things like grass and stuff do tend to grow better/faster in the Spring and Summer than at other times of the year, so whilst we could look at the wider implications for the sport, we could also just accept that it's all down to grass growing when it grows best... i.e. now.

It is quite a posh school with very good facilities. The pitch I presume they will be playing on is in an ampitheatre with seating round the ground - but even so, is it suitable for pro rugby? Hmmm, not in my view.
