Not saying now but in the season if there is somebody unhappy some where i.e. a scrum half we need one. Dobson came on loan to Wigan and did wonders and he was just a reserve player. We need organisation with a good scrum half. Jeffries for me offers nothing around the ruck. Obst latu hookers as latu is not a back rower in a million years. Davey as back up hooker.Paul Cooke to loose forward. Not criticising or anything but with all the £ we must have if the opportuinity arises in THE SEASON we still need a proper scrum half. AMEN .

Does it make much difference whether Jeffries is 7 or 6, other than at the scrum? Jeffries will come into the line at the same point he would have done with Brough there, as in open play, Cooke has just taken Brough's place, hasn't he? Maybe it didn't work out as well with Jeffries before because he was given the role of playmaker, whereas now we have playmakers, and so Jeffries does now what was Rooney's job when they were both at 7 and 6.

Half-backs can't offer much when the forwards are stood still! Cooke was having to come up with miracle balls as there was suck a lack of movement. But that said in a tight derby match with Wigan monday we didn't have to break our backs putting the game away. Only beef I had was BJ only taking the line on once or twice as he looks like he'll ghost through everytime.

What a suprise desmond decker with something useful to say once again. As he has not a brain to start something that raises a debate. Jeffries needs to take the line on a lot more as when he is in flow he is hard to tackle. We do need a scrum half any half decent one will do on loan for the season.

I would be happy for us to "make do for 2010" (because lets be honest we're doing VERY WELL) if we had a top class no. 7 signed on for 2011. Someone in the mold of Finch/Thurston/Barba.



We have to money and quota space, gone on and get a top class no.7, everything else we have coming through our ranks (- Murphy, prop- Gledhill, wing- Morton, 2nd row- Annekin, hooker- Davey).



When you look at that list of GOOD, LOCAL prospects coming through you have to wonder how anyone could call us a struggling franchise?? This is what the SC and franchising is all about, breeding and blooding our own talent. If other clubs in SL had the same commitment to youth we might push the Aussies a bit further.



With quality kids being blooded into our team, who are receiving coaching which is on a par with the best in the country I for one think exciting times await us in the not too distant future.
