Joined Hull on a season loan, not played for Wigan since he signed after we got relegated. Had he stayed with us he may have been a first team regular now. Wonder if he regrets leaving as his career development looks pretty slow at the moment

Thought the same, would've had a good season in the Championship to develop and a good chance he'd be a regular now. Wigan was always going to be a hard nut to crack so while I get why he went, his agent should've looked at the long term benefit of their client. On the plus side, he will have been exposed to better training, but nothing beats game time.

Pretty much thought the same. His career this past 18 months has stalled somewhat. Hes still young but it seems like a bit of a lost opportunity. I wonder if the club looked at him for a loan option this season but we are pretty solid at prop. I still wouldn’t mind seeing him back in 2026 but it’s not necessary as with the likes of Vagana, Uele, Rodwell, maybe Faatili they all have tier best years to come. Even Mckmeeken has a good few years left in the tank and he looks like a prop who could go to 35+ with how fit he is and professional. We then have Lingard who If he works on building his frame with more muscle as he matures we could be looking very healthy at prop. Only one in yet to be convinced by is Shaw, I just feel he needs to fill his frame a bit more to match his direct style of running to be more effective but some props don’t hit their straps till mid-late 20s. Isn’t Eseh off contract end of this season and available for 2026?

He's still young for a prop, and will have gained invaluable experience through training with Wigan. Trinity was a bit of a basket case when he left, so personally I can't say as I hold any grudges against him. It'll be interesting to see where his next contract is at...do Wigan see enough potential to retain him, or will he end up at another SL or championship club.

i've just posted something very similar on the Wigan Fans forum. He's still only 21 and been in a professional environment, and plenty time to fulfil his potential. Getting game time on loan is currently better than the reserves competition which isnt good enough for players who fall out of academy age, but not quite in the 1st team squad It will be interesting to see what his next move is, whether he wants to stay at Wigan or if Wigan see a future for him. At the minute in terms of props he is behind Thompson, Havard, Byrne, Dupree, Mago, Ellis, Hill and Walters, so not all of them are getting regular game time at Wigan, so a tough gig at prop at the minute
