10 days, no update, when was the last match report, has the club dispensed with idea of having a website. Or do we only update when we are winning.



Somebody is responsible for keeping the website up to date.

Somebody is responsible for giving that person the info to put on.



Mid season, as Spymaster says, a little slack maybe.



One of the directors must realise we are not marketing ourselves on the web too well.



That said Merchandise page and LS Prints partnership looks spot on.

I never bother with the club website any more. If I wasn't already a fan, I don't think it would convince me to become one! I think I'd be getting my info from the Keighley News.

And there in lies the problem.



The club website should be the first point of call for club news.



But when the news is on other sites first, it doesn't look professional.



If fans are going elsewhere how many times are those adverts going to be looked at?



With respect to Mike's videos we shoudn't really be finding out on YouTube via here about 2 new signings before it's up on the club's own pages.

I used to be sent all the clubs press releases.

As soon as i got them i posted them on here.



For some reason, which i have never been told that stopped.

I think the whole website issue is a time and money situation. Yes, I agree it would be nice to have a website looking as good and updated as the example on the initial thread, however, I think the club has channeled that money into the playing squad with the aim of promotion. Maybe, given the shake up at the end of the season that is a worthwhile decision. We need to be in the Championship! When we are in the Championship maybe this can be looked at. I accept the clubs information source would appear by and large to be Micky's videos. Maybe this is an efficient use of the resources at the moment.

Yes, but its not going to attract new followers as it is, is it? Someone new to the area say, or someone bored with the Bulls, sees a mention of there being an RL team in Keighley. They google the website, see how out of date it is, and go somewhere else.



It might be a money issue for all I know, either way, its not a great ad to anyone new looking at the club for details

In fairness, I don't think it's exclusively the web site that will attract new supporters. The fact is, whatever the club does there will be criticism. I just provided a viewpoint on the possible reasons. I'm not saying it's right. Personally, if it meant we'd get in the Championship I'd be happy for the website to take a backseat. That's my view and am sure others will disagree. Maybe those who like the website to be up to date and are in the know may like to volunteer their own time to the cause like Micky does?

Having an up to date website may not bring new fans.



Neglecting the one we have puts out a message that the club doesn't care about the fans and their numbers shall further dwindle.



There are some savings which turn out to be very costly.



Hopefully one of the business brains amongst the directors responsible will get this door closed whilst there are still some horses left to bolt.

Maybe the flip side of that argument is that the club value the fans and have chosen to update fans by video mail rather than the website and have put more money into the playing squad? Don't get me wrong I'd love an all singing and dancing website, but there isn't a massive budget for that job one assumes.

If the offers and discounts are aimed at helping sell the package, then maybe we should put them here.
