But unfortunately for you and others thats the way modern day RL is. I personally love the play offs. They provide so much excitement to the end of season and the Grand Final provides such a massive atmosphere unrivaled by anything else.







True,i just wonder how IL would feel if Noble did manage to win the GF. He would certainly of put himself under immense pressure with the fans demanding the new coach also brings us a trophy next year. It just seems IL has put himself in an unreal position.

I know that is the way it is but it seems to mean I may as well just turn up for the play offs.



There needs to be a system that promotes both league excellence and the playoffs and as I have said on several threads recently the best play off system is the top 5 and that does more than any of the others tried so far to do so IMO.







That is one of several reasons why I have been saying for about half a season the decision should have been announced a while back whether Nobby was staying or going. Waiting to see if he wins the GF is a bit naff whichever of the side of the pro or anti Nobby side of the fence you sit on.

The trick is to build on and on year on year, constantly improving the players. Perhaps IL feels that Noble has taken the team as far as he can. Perhaps Noble wants a new challenge.



Whether we win the GF or not we have to look to the future, if its with Noble fine, if its with someone else at the helm bringing new ideas then thats fine too. As long as there is progression.

We have nit been good enough a knock out comp which we should always get to the semi on given our team again to me highlights just how poor we have been this year.

with the play off system people should attemp to realise that the league is nothing more than a means to an end !



the clubs play 27 game to show the top x clubs who are good enough to go forward to the play off's



The top 4 in the league gets a better chance of reaching the final. we and catalans are in the last four and i am sure there are other fans and coaches who would love to be in our shoes



yet what do we get from our own fans ?? whinging and bitching if there was a league for that we would win hands down



Noble asked for 4 years ! we have now got two teams into there respective grand finals and the first team a game away !



all these things have come about under one Brian Noble



is that good enough ? no some fans only know how to bitch and whinge and that for me includes the chairm





yes ironic that i am whinging and bitching against the fans who bitch and whinge about the players and the coach

Get of your high horse Pal, Nobles FAILED at Wigan, poor regular seasons and semi final chokers, Lenegan (Chairman) has seen exactly what most fans have seen and it isnt good enough and is trying to correct this, a new coach with modern techniques would improve our team more than any new signing could.

We have been 80 mins away from the grand final the last two seasons ( beaten by the winners on both occasions)

this from a team heading into national league one !!!



but maybe failure in your eyes means we have not beaten every other tam to a pulp ??



even in the glory years we did not win every thing at a canter and at times it was more than an arm wrestle



maybe hindsight only woirks if you gloss over the things that don'tfit into the arguments against the current coach /players



in there day edwards and farrel got more thanb there share of flak from the "fans"



yet now they are boasted as the be all and end all of wigans history now that is IRONIC
