Heard Thornley has been playing well in the couple of weeks he has been back, scored a brace last weekend at the SOL fan day, was told he looks a real handful.
Long term I've heard it's Thornley in for Carmont partnering Joe Burgess (a real prospect!) who the club are looking to replace Pat when he retires!
A big, strong & fast centre-wing combo.

Spot on. Anyone know why this is the case? Is it because we've built a squad around having a rotating pack, to the exclusion of all else, or have we just been unlucky in that the youngsters who were due to come through in the backs haven't made the grade? |

The latter, mainly. Ainscough was a disappointment, Thornley left to RU, Mellor got a long-term injury, Marsh's progress seems to have stalled, Veivers was never all that good, Powell I hope will come through, the rest are still largely "works in progress", though I think Russell, King and Murphy have the ability and attitude to progress. |
