To all - As an outsider from these parts I've always been amazed at the feeling of community and family that comes from being a Wigan supporter. It's a choker of Sintellins-at-Old Trafford proportions to see how people pull together in the face of adversity.

I lost my mum 15 years ago on the 1st oct 1995 and was reflecting about the fact after the win at old trafford that she wasn't alive that i finally got to go to central park (199icon_cool.gif and as my name suggests im not from wigan.



I had watched wigan rugby league from afar via bbc and sky and to get to central park was a dream come true for me, but like other places i have been to since she died i couldnt tell her all about it which is something that always makes me sad.



Time heals all but they will be in our minds and hearts forever.

Even though the stories in here are heartbreaking, and I have a few I could add myself, but it is so good that our loved ones have left us still proud to be a Wigan RL supporter.



I know my Nan certainly was.

Have to say, i'm blown away by all the inspirational words and stories posted here.

Quite humbling to read, but heartwarming also.

My Mum would have been properly proud [size=85(and probably just a tad embarrassed too!).[/size



I'm a bit lost for words at the moment, so i'll simply echo what someone else posted earlier - As it sums up my thoughts perfectly.

heart rending mate..............i know exactly how you feel.

not rugby related , but i lost my mum to cancer............your tales brought back the memory of me holding her hand why she took her final breath.

mine held on to watch her newest grandchild christened................BUT...........she was a wigan fan , and the first thing that crossed my mind when we beat rhinos in 1st GF was my mum.



your griefs new.............you must have been in a worse mental state than me.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, My condolences go to you and your family. My mother passed away the day before the Grand Final after a long battle with Huntingtons Disease and I looked to the sky during the match and I knew she was watching.

so sorry for your loss. it brought a tear to my eye. this season has meant so much to me, however i can totally see what it meant to you and your mum. grand final day was an emotional day in more ways than one.xx
