Wigan council own 41%

This shows a change of attitude by the football club since DW moved over. For all the positive platitudes voiced by IL about the football club I have yet to see anything at all coming from the other direction. The new owner seems to be keen to curry favour from his hard core fans.

I've already emailed the club reference this. I have friends arriving from Belgium to watch this game, flights booked and paid for and tickets purchased. The way the club has treated its supporters over the past couple of years is disgraceful. I will definitely not be renewing my season ticket next year, I will pick and choose my matches, if this is the only way I can get my point across then so be it.

Just about ready to walk away . Should play all games on Thursday that's the way it's heading. Just as well all my arrangements for Saturday are non refundable or they could shock that as well

The club knowing all these problems exist but keep quiet because it might effect season ticket sales is bordering on theft .

The club doesn't care one iota about its fans anymore, we are no longer supporters, just numbers on a monthly invoice

That little snipped of T&Cs reads like those of a shady loans company, not a sports club aiming to attract, retain and entertain "fans".



T&Cs wrote:4. Changes to Dates Refunds and Exchanges



4.1. No guarantees can be given by the Club that a Match will take place at a particular time or a particular date or at a particular venue. The Club reserves the right to reschedule any Match without notice and without any liability whatsoever.



4.2. The Club will have no further liability whatsoever, including (but not limited to) any direct or consequential loss or damage, loss of enjoyment or travel cost.



It is no surprise many ST holders have jacked it in when you get this kind of treatment. No fans, no club.

As a Salford fan I will just quote my post on our site:



"We are now playing Wigan away next Thursday not Friday. I am most disappointed as I am unable to attend as I organised something for the Thursday evening rather than the more convenient Friday. The statement suggested it was an agreement between both clubs & the RFL. A rearranged match with only 8 days to go? Could I thank them again for ignoring supporters.

Perhaps the game may get more supporters if they were given more consideration."

Since leneghan arrived the club has been turned from a family based club into a business venture and is more than happy to upset it's fans to maintain its corporate image. Everything about the club is business orientated and leaves very little left for the fans to enjoy.

What the statement doesn't mention is that the key factor in all of this is Wigan athletic.

This is very poor, and I do feel for people who've already laid out considerable sums of money to see this game. And the worst of it is, there's every sign that the situation will get worse in the future, rather than better.



I'm looking down the fixture list and wondering what games I can feasibly get to. Thursdays are out, so that kills off Hudds at home and Cas away (went to both last season). Dunno, Leeds and Saints at home and maybe Saints away. Or Hull... I expect I'll end up seeing less games than last year.



Has IL said anything in the past about getting our own ground? Is there any long-term plan in place?



But just on those T&Cs posted upthread: that sounds pretty standard to me; Id be surprised if every rugby (and football) club didn't have similar.
