All this rubbish about the "Wigan Walk" YOU need a large crowd to notice people leaving early!



There's a good possibility that 90% of people commenting on this topic have never been to a game at Wigan and wouldn't know the difficulties involved in getting away from the ground after the game.



and for the record i prefer to stay and applaud the team after the game, and i have no problem with some people wishing or NEEDING to leave early.

Do you know legendary urban myth that there are literally hundreds of Wiganers who don't know that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's dad.

I presume some like me don't live in Wigan and need to catch a train out of Wigan and then a bus home. Luckily I can stay till the end of matches but I guess there are those who have to get out a few mins before the end.

i live in London, not many live further

Doesn't really matter on the distance, it's difficulty getting home, especially if you use public transport.

So reasons that i 'get' now are

1) getting mullered

2) not missing last train



Any others

3) Beating the hell out of some crummy opposition team and got bored. But you might not 'get' that one

Who decides the 'end' of the match?



I'd say the end of the match is not the final whistle, but when the win or loss is sealed.



At the end of the day, who gives a toss??

I always leave the HJ early to avoid being attacked by Wire fans
