back to his best tonight. what an absolute joke of a performance. Wigan are penalised relentlessly around the play the ball in the first half... clearly a preconcieved idea on the wigan/melbourne/huddersfield style of defence as leeds weren't exactly quick around the rook themselves.. the penalty on keith senior on the kick through when he was very badly done to ... putting joel tomkins on report for absolutely nothing, ignoring diskins chicken wing tackle in the first half, leeds numerous lazy arms at the play the ball. The list goes on. This was a very good effort tonight by both teams.. leeds determination was the stuff of champions and wigan who were in a lose/lose situation tonight ground out the result. I feel this could have been a much better specatcle if it wasn't for the man from over the hill beng obsessed by his own ego

Thought he had a good game myself. Quickened up the play the ball in the first 15 minutes and got the game flowing.



I'm not keen on waiting for the 'move' call, but at the end of the day Cummings has set the precedent with the World Club Challenge game, and it looks like we're going to be following it this season. You can't really blame the referees for that as this is how they are instructed to control the ruck (by Cummings, but indirectly by the NRL for a change).

thats all well and good but gansen was very inconsistent with this tonight. The trick of our style of defence is not laying on and just slowing the ball down. It is about having three or four men in the tackle. he shouts move and one by one the players peel off. But gansen was penalising if the rook wasnt clear within 1-2 seconds of the call. our rules usually allow a 3 second play the ball and the NRL seem to revolve around the surrender call which is about a 5 second play the ball, gansen did neither, he penalised when he felt like it tonight. last season gansen was good, tonight he was poor

Ganson had a good game tonight. He set his stall out early, taking no messing around the ruck, which was good IMO. It got the game moving. Only one unfair decision IMO and that was when the Leeds player was writhing around under Fielden, knocking the ball loose. Unfair judgement against a somewhat sloppy Fielden. But otherwise he made some really good calls for both sides.

Posting 5 minutes after full time about a referee performance is bad form. Unless you were running around on the pitch with Ganson. He doesn't have eyes everywhere.

Ganson had an awful game. How any one could see that as a fair performance I have no idea.

and why is that CAM. because i didn't attend the game ???? i stated on various threads all week i wouldnt be at the game for personal reasons. I watched the game closely and thought the referee was poor... and this is a forum. wasnt aware there were rules about timescales on making coments about the game or rules about making comments if you didn't actually go to the game.... maybe you should explain what is good form and bad form and the rules and regs surrounding this so i know in the future what i can and cannot do on a PUBLIC forum

Not hard to understand is it? No referee is perfect as much as you would like them to be. The holding down thing is always going to go one way or the other. Our style is that we probably will get penalised a lot for it throughout the season. I didn't see much holding down from Leeds. I also thought the call against Senior was spot on. You can't just run back through the line like he did, straight infront of a defender. Clearly obstruction.
