Has anyone else heard the rumor that Spencer has recently broke the clubs bench press record?



The kid is gonna be a beast if he's doing that already.

I couldn't give a sh*t if he has to be honest. That's macho b*llocks! He can do that every day of the week but if he can't catch a ball he's useless isn't he. So I'd rather see him breaking some records on the pitch - fastest sending off for clamping Mathers in two weeks time, something like that!

They say its true though. But question is - who was the previous record holder?

You only have to look at guys like Penny to realise physical attributes are no substitute for playing ability.



I do think however little records like this are some of the reasons why Spencer has got his shot/place in the first team. He's impressed many on here in pre season and he must be ripping it in during training. Let's hope he can turn these attributes into on field potential. He's under the right coach for it.



I'm sure I heard on here he was due to go on DR at Leigh is this still an option when Prescott returns?

I've heard it said that to be a decent rugby player you need to be strong in at least two out of these three:



- Speed

- Strength

- Skill



Obviously the very best players have all three. Sounds like he might have the strength. Hopefully he'll do ok on the other two as well.

Correct. If its true though he must be a heck of a strong lad to do it at that age.

Andy Farrell had the record if true that Spencer had broken it (180kg I think) in the 2010 season someone told me that it was close between George and Fielden for who was the strongest and that Feka couldn't bench for poop.
