| I have just seen the footage of the Soward incident and to be honest it doesn't look as bad as it did at the time. Soward takes exception to what he feels was a late shot on him and after the try is scored he runs after Worthington and tackles him from behind.
A bit of a scuffle on the floor quickly broken up by other players.
Would probably be sending of sufficient if it wasn't so late in the game. They will probably miss a game each.

| Quote Bostwick="Bostwick"When you consider that we had a try disallowed, we knocked on at the restart, turned over possession, from which they scored. The result could have been so different. In addition we were on the end of some poor decisions from a very poor ref.'"
Leigh also made several mistakes, Hock probably had his worst game in a Leigh shirt, and the normally reliable Hanson turned over possession a couple of times in key areas, we lost Moi Moi early on never to return.
Ref’s only ever give what they see and usually get more right than they get wrong, London’s disallowed try was the correct decision a good pass and you would have scored, you also never took advantage of the extra man following the sin binning but we can all say if this and that would have happened it would have been different, overall I’d say the final score was probably a true reflection of the game with us just about being the better team, but neither of us were good enough to trouble a SL team on that performance.
Hopefully we’ll both improve, Good Luck for the rest of the competition.

He can't. As a fully signed up member of the refs brotherhood and I was there I can tell you MickyB Thaler made some outlandish decisions mostly and a stress mostly in Leigh's favour.

| When a team loses the referees decisions are always outlandish and against you, when a team wins usually efs don't get a mention, it's the nature of most fans. Always have to remember as well as a fan 50 60 70 Mtrs away always have a better view than the ref who us usually within 10 Mtrs, not being an apologist just pointing out the obvious.
Fact is refs do make mistakes, they are human, however 1 mistake by the ref does not decide a game, the decisions, mistakes and infringements the players make over 80 mins decide the game.

You get on my tits mate. You will never accept refs make incorrect decisions or they influence the game with wrong decisions. Leigh deserved the win.

| Having watched the 'Youtube' video on the Broncos site, I reckon Soward took exception to Greg's slightly late (but with both hands raised) challenge. He then appears to tackle Worthington from behind. I can't actually see any punches thrown by either player but Ben Thaler obviously did - he's right in the middle of the melee. So, presumably the referee's report has been used here, rather than an inconclusive camera angle. I still believe Thaler is the best there is, and am prepared to trust him on this one.
OK, we can argue that, if Soward hadn't tackled Greg, nothing else would have happened. Or we could argue that, if Greg hadn't gone in recklessly on Soward, nothing would have happened. As the EGP is available to both, it looks like no suspension for Soward, and three for Greg.
In some ways, we could benefit from this decision, as we have cover for Worthington, and I'd prefer Soward to be available for the Broncos against the rest of the teams!

| Plummy, I beg to differ mate.
Read my last post, think I said that yes refs make mistakes, they are human, y the point I am making is one wrong call does not make a game, it's the combination of the 80 minutes if a team loses by 2 points because of a call from the ref when there are 64 points scored in a game then who's responsible for the other 62 points.
There is an interesting comment, not quoting but it suggested poor decisions from a poor ref! Ben Thaler is probably the best performing ref in the comp, so the question is, if he made any mistakes on Sat how does that make him a poor ref.
Jamie Soward got sent off, does that make him a poor player?

After consultation with his Touch Judges..Thats the difference between a top ref and Childs.
