Broncos boss Rob Powell was unhappy at his side's start, which saw them trailing 12-0 after only five minutes.



Powell, whose team have now lost seven of their eight matches this season, said: "Maybe the boys thought that after a win over Castleford and a good performance against Wigan we would be good again.



"But it does not work like that and this defeat hurts.



"We could have won it at 30-30 but that is a ridiculous scoreline and I am more concerned about the start. We let them out of the blocks too quickly.



"Widnes had a really good go, ran hard and tackled strongly and were a bit better at that than us."

The Broncos now look ahead to a televised clash with Wakefield on Saturday, and Powell knows the exact improvement he has in mind.



He added: "We just have to start better.

Poor very poor and just got back. The players disappeared down the tunnel at the end and didn't come over to the few fans from London. Time some of them stayed down the tunnel the way they played.
